When I was just a little girl, I would lock myself up in a room, reading and writing stories.
I was once an introvert who covered up my shyness with reading and writing. My holidays were spent learning fashion design because I never wanted to be Idle, I have always loved personal development since childhood.
Growing up, I pursued a career I chose when I was in primary school and I loved it. That stopped me from developing my passion in writing.
At a point in my life, I published series of magazines because I believe whatever happens to us in life is a message for others to learn from.
This is the same reason I decided to write my book on finance. Being a banker for over thirteen years, I have seen a lot of financial errors people make. Keeping them to myself would have meant being selfish.
So I wrote my first book, Money Maths.
I invested in developing myself in other areas and neglected my passion in writing.
Recently, I picked up that writing passion and became determined to make the best use of it and I am already reaping the return on my investment.
If you find yourself in a strange land with no certificate and all your social networks are gone, what will you be left with?
Investing in learning a skill or trade is an investment you should consider even now that you are comfortable with your job/ business.
If you lose your job today or your business takes a new turn, do you have other things you can fall back on, pending the time you get back on track or get another job?
What is that thing you have passion for apart from your present career?
Invest in learning it. Get a coach if you have to. Read about it. Invest your time in becoming better.
That may just be your way to another successful career.
Don’t wait for your employer to send you for that training or pay for that professional exam. Do yourself the honour of improving yourself.
Start creating a future you desire today.
